TASCA help...looking for HOMELINK module

I tried searching TASCA's website but the search proved futile. I am looking for the homelink module that goes in the sunvisor for 2010 SCREW. Just the module, not the entire visor.

Anyone here have any contacts at TASCA that might be able to assist.

They used to participate in the forum - haven't seen any presence in a while though.

Ford does not sell just the module. You would have to buy an entire visor and I checked with a friend who works at a Ford dealership and his (employee) price would have been $290 something. Instead, I bought a module off eBay for $19 and installed it in my XLT visor. Not the easiest mod, but nice once it was done.

I am almost positive that the module alone is not available for purchase from ford. I pulled my module out of a Chrysler Sebring at a boneyard. I pulled 2 that day. One with the little house, and one without. The one with the house wouldn't work with my Craftsman garage door opener. The One without the house worked perfectly.

Efusillier, Why in the world would you mount it there? The Visor has a dedicated spot built into it that fits the module perfectly. I mean perfectly. It was designed to have it. Putting it anywhere else doesn't make any sense what so ever. It's your truck, but I strongly feel that what you are thinking is a mistake. Stuffing it into the Visor is so easy, and you can do it sitting at your kitchen table. I recommend you reconsider....

Hello, I just looked in our Ford Catalog and it looks like the only way to get the module is to purchase the visor. I wish we could get it seperately but it is not offered.

If you have any questions you can direct them to tpc@tasca.com

thanks,
Tasca Parts

should have everything you need to know here, install is identical to the f150.

I've done this mod 3 times, 1st time took me about 2 hours because i was nervous. The 2nd and 3rd was less than an hour. It's pretty simple and straight forward.

Search the forums, You either need a rolling code or non rolling code homelink. One works on both types, the other does not IIRC.

I bought an in-stock F-150 and told the salesperson that I wanted a "Homelink". He said would add at his cost. When the new visor arrived, it was the "Car-2-U" visor, which was a disappointment as the programming is much easier with the Homelink. I accepted based on the fact that once programmed, it is pretty much forgotten. He showed me the dealer cost as $186.

The programming might be a PITA with the Car2U but I have found that the range on the Car2U opener is MUCH better than the range on the HomeLink ones. The Car2U will open/close my garage doors from the end of the block. The HomeLink will only start working as I get in front of my next door neighbors house. And this isn't a 1-module fluke, the HomeLink modules in my old 2001 F-150, our 2011 Edge and the one mounted in the mirror in my '08 Infiniti have the same range.

Also, I believe the HomeLink modules with the little house/arrow icon are the rolling-code models, the ones without the logos are not rolling-code capable.
