Decide exactly what you want, and what you think you should have to pay for it, then contact a dealer's internet salesman, telling them what you want. You get your best deals the last two days of a month, if it is one of the larger dealers that competes for volume.

Have my 5.0 fx4 for 1yr now. 3.73 gears. Love the truck! Truck has plenty of power, especially on highway, hitting the rev limiter at 95 is very easy..lol
As far as gas mileage, dont be fooled by some people's #'s. stock truck driving reasonably you can get 18-24 highway, city 15-18 at best. If you upgrade the tires or put a level, its decreases significantly. Most of my driving is now city, short 5 mile trips and i average no better than 15, 16 tops.

throw an exhaust, and the 5.0 really sounds good!

lol you hear that all to often where somebody says i get 13mpg, then come to find out they have bigger tires, a lift, etc. Conditions matter as well, vehicles do worse in the winter, if your in hilly terrain you will lose some.

I look at it this way. The MPG isnt killer my dads 09 chevy 5.3 gets 16-17 mpg city and around 20HWY, so ford is not killing the competition. There is a BUT a big BUT. There has never been any trucks that match capability with MPG until the last year or so. Until now you couldnt buy a half ton that can tow over 11k lbs and still get 20 on the HWY and 15-16 city. And alot of people see it as my 2002 got the same mpg but your 2002 towed 3-4000lbs less than the ones do today.

Do I think they can make trucks get better MPG sure, but it would probably be so costly to do it at first the trucks would start stickering at 50k and nobody would buy them. The technology has to go in steps. In 5 years im guessing that most half tons will get close to 20mpg city and mid to high 20's HWY. Were just going to have to look at chevys new line, Ford up'd the stakes in 2010-2011 and Gm would be foolish to come out with their new fifth generate that performance and mpg wise didnt beat ford. Then ford will leap ahead and I think thats when you will see the 20mpg. I am really convinced GM will introduce an eco boost model that exceeds Fords power ratings and gets 17-19mpg city and 24-25 hwy.
