2012 F150 Transmission Bump

I test drove a 2012 f150 with 5.0 and 3.55 when I was in town stop light to stop light when it downshift back to 1st gear you could fell a bump it shifted good. but every time it went back to 1st gear bump. My 2010 shifts great smooth as it can be. I thought they fixed all those bump problems?? I hope my new truck that I ordered don't do it?

One of the 2012's I test drove had the same issue, but the one I bought doesn't do it at all. I do know that it has been an issue for some of the members here. Might be hit or miss..... Some of the other '11 and '12 guys will weigh in....

My new 2011 with the 5.0 and 2200 miles does it and it drives me crazy. The dealership has "Stopped the vehicle over 80 times" and can't feel it. This comes from a guy that had an 05 that had nothing but transmission, driveshaft, rearend problems so I am pretty disapointed. The guy told me to give the truck 300 miles to learn my driving habits..... It's been 500 miles and this will be the 3rd visit.

Mine does it and its normal. Took it to dealer they verified and I saw the email from Ford tech line, and Ford says this is normal on the new 6spd transmission. They did install friction modifiers in mine thats supposed to help, and I guess it has helped a little.

Nice to know Ford won't fix it. Normal? They say that cause they don't know how to fix it. Do GM's 6sp in the 1500's do it? How about the Tundra 6spd? How about the Ram 1500? What about Ford/Ram/GM 3/4-1 ton 6spds behind their diesels? Ford F150's have a junk 6spd period. BTW I have a 2010 and it does it. It's happening in 09, 10, 11 and 12's. Took it in and they flashed the tranny, told me to stop/start it 20 times to re-learn it. BS, It is no better than before, and 1500 miles latter. Just because it doesn't do it with 0 miles on it doesn't mean it won't do latter. It took mine 8000 miles before it started. And if it was normal then why did they try and fix mine?

The first gear ratio is 4.17 to 1. The bump is normal with that steep of a first gear.....they all do it. Better for towing and easy acceleration.

BS, then why didn't mine show up untill 8000 miles? And if it's normal then why didn't the dealer just tell me that and not try and fix it?

I had mine reflashed. The TSB is for the "bump" and a harsh shift into second. The reflash took care of mine harsh shift into second but didn't do anything for my "bump". This is my 4th F-150. The first two were the best vehicles I've ever owned and I am a Die-hard Ford guy... The latest two... Well... My 2011 has been at the dealership more than it's been in my driveway.
