Yup, over 30 letters sent to that McDonalds complaining about superheated coffee burning people.
The old woman that got burned.....if you ever see the photos.....that was more than scalding water.....and she wasn't driving her car with coffee between her legs.

It's very interesting and everyone deserves to follow up on it and see what went on:

My '03 and '08 had 10 minute timers on the seat heaters. You are telling me that they stay on now?

We all heard about this "trivial" lawsuit in the McDonald's Coffee case but not many actually know the story. Everyone always said it was frivolous and than that became fact over time. McDonalds Corporate knew that the coffee was too hot and was a risk for injury. It was saving them money as it resulted in less refills inside the store because it took longer to drink. Corporate documents stating the concern of it being an injury risk is the only reason why the case was won.

I'm with Calgary FX on this one, -30 C up here in Canada....The leather is hard as a rock and cold as he**... I'll risk it....On a side note, use to work in the trade in the mid 90's to 2005. Ford Focus had a TSB or recall, don't remember, but had to change many a seat heater in those...It was amazing to see how scorched the foam seat cushions would get over time...
