New guys experiences with autolights.com

Hey! So first post here, been lurking for a while now. I've learned a lot about my truck from here, so here's my story.

A couple years ago I owned a 2008 fx2 sport, Mike from autolightsunlimited did an amazing job smoking a set of oem lights for me, he responded to my emails as quickly as I sent them, and the lights got to Canada in under a week. I highly recommended him (he is expensive though) to my buddies and I still have the lights in mint condition 4 years later.

Now I own a 2011 raptor screw and have started trying to mod it a bit. I emailed mike, and as usual he emailed me back stoked to do my lights for me. Needless to say I was excited, and could not wait to get these lights on the truck. Well it's been over 2 months now, no lights. I've emailed him over 20 times with no answer. I tracked his number online, called him 15 times also got no answer. Finally after the 20th 'have you sent my tail lights email ' I got angry, he took 400 dollars from me. I may have crossed the line, but it wasn't like the guy was answering. I basically said eff you I hope my 400 bucks made you happy you lost a customer, who came back for repeat business. As soon as I sent the angry email, he emails me back! Saying that I'm scamming him for free lights and that he sent them awhile ago, but didn't bother to inform me at all. Well I've gotten screwed out of tail lights from this guy, because he never sent them. So be warned guys! If you're considering getting your taillights professionally done, maybe go somewhere else.

/end rant, sorry I'm pissed.
Ps this forum is wicked, glad I stumbled upon it

That sucks. Any reputable company would have tracking info, and would have emailed you.

If he's with a company and has an equiv of a BBB up there, file the official paperwork and just so there is a scratch against his record.

If he shipped them then he should have SOME kind of record stating such. Then you could file against the shipper for losing the package. Otherwise, responsibility *should* lay on him.

Sorry for your trouble.

Not only that, but I sent him over 20 very carefully worded emails that explained my situation and if he could please just double check and make sure he did ship them. It was until I told him to eff himself, he responded with,
"Quit scamming me, I sent out your lights a month ago, and I dont respond to nasty emails" WTF? on his website www.autolightsunlimited.com he says that customer satifsfaction is 100% first priority. Does not seem like it to me. Just be warned if anybody does decide to use this guy. His work is really really good, I have 08 tail lights that he did and they look amazing!

With that being said, I don't want to order any cheap asian lights off of ebay, anyone know another source to get these done?

So how could I go about this, he's an independent company? If I have no paperwork, just the invoice he emailed me months ago before I paid for it?

There is definitely a BBB in Vancouver, BC that you could call. Do you have any type of receipt for payment? What payment method did you use? If you used a credit card you could advise the credit card company that you did not receive the product you paid for and they will reverse the charges, they will then debit his account.

Did you send your stock tail lights to him to modify? So now you are out $400 and have no tail lights?

"Closed" and "down for maintenance" are two different things.

First off, $400 to smoke some lights? And people think I'm crazy for spending $300 to make them BRIGHTER. Secondly, while he should have sent you an e-mail AND a tracking number, the problem sounds like a mailing problem. Ask him to see if he had the return address correct, etc, etc. Decisions are best made when emotions are not affecting things. Posting a rant online isn't going to get your lights back.

Mail service in the US is terrible.

I sent a package to my daughter in Oregon at Christmas 'priority mail' and it arrived just before Valentine's day.

Maybe he really did ship it?

I would have given you a tracking number, howevah.............

Shipping in Canada isn't much better either. Stuff can get held up at the border for no reason. But whatever I'm gonna move on, if they show up great, if not I already knew it was coming. Figures the first mod I wanted to do to my raptor would backfire lol.

There is a guy on the forums, I think his name is Lifted5.4 or 5.4Lifted, he is on the 1st or second page of 2009 and up parts classifieds he is doing smoked Harley tails.

He seems to have done quite a few sets and his prices seem much more reasonable. I would check him out. Seems like a good guy and looks like he does really good work.
