volant intake loud drone

I recently took a snowmobile trip and the drone from my 2010 5.4 was driving me crazy. It was really loud. All i have is a volant intake no exhaust and i was wondering if this is a volant thing or do they all make this much noise. I am considering getting ride of the intake if i cant get it to quite down.

a programmer and custom tune can make it go away but the drawback is then the Cai loses it gains...or...put the stock intake back on and remove the snorkle from the air box....

I had a Volant on my '04 5.4..... droned something fierce and was annoying. I had Magnaflow Exhaust and a custom tune from VMP.....

Its not the answer you want to here after buying an intake but you will go insane listening to that drone. I replaced my stock filter with and AEM dry filter and it made a noticable difference over stock.
