Raptor parts on regular F-150

So I have a few ideas floating around in my head, and was wondering if someone with more wisdom than I, knew the answers to my questions.

Is it possible to put the Raptor rear end in at normal F-150 and switch out the dash switch so that the rear can be locked in 2WD, 4HI and 4LO (yes my truck is already 4x4)? I also realize that the Raptor comes with 4.10 gearing, so I would re-gear my front differential at the same time as swapping the rear axle.

Next question,

the auxiliary switches, offroad button, and hill descent:

Is it possible to get this part and hook it up to the truck? Obviously, the auxiliary switches would be no real problem. I know the offroad mode and the hill descent are achieved my modulating the ABS brake system so I'm assuming it's controlled by the truck's ECM. If we are able to install the part and get it all hooked up, could we just re-flash the ECM to have the programming from the Raptor?

I know some of these issues are more involved than others, but I don't really know about them so I figured I would just ask. I currently have the same size tires as the Raptor comes stock with and I would swap to the same gearing if the rear end swap worked, so the programming could also be the same.

Thanks in advance!!

Formuladriver01 just tried the raptor switch to lock the rears in 2wd and it didn't work. Not sure about the other stuff though.

Just like Ruffn-it said I tried the 4 wheel drive selector ****. I don't know about the other stuff. I know the 09 didn't come with rear defrost so 09 owners just has to buy the glass and plug it in. The harness is already there. ford just didn't put the defrost glass in it for some reason. I know there is something similar to the Toyota tundra where the wiring is already there and all you have to do is buy the switch and plug it in. I'm not sure what it is on the tundra though. So maybe the off road mode and hill decent control is already there and just need the switches.

He stated changing the whole rear end not just the **** fyi...even though I dont know if that will work. And Im pretty sure anything can be done with some programming and ingenuity.

It would probably be a lot cheaper in the long run to just buy an aftermarket locker... you'll pay a crap ton of money for the entire Raptor rear end from Ford. Just buy an air locker for your rear end and be done with it...

Yea I know it would be cheaper to do an ARB air locker, but I would prefer to have the E-locker instead of having to have a compressor somewhere. I would also need to re-gear the truck if I just added an ARB air locker, where as the Raptor rear end would already have that. And I was just thinking that since the Raptor one is a stock piece, and an electronic locker, it would just be a cleaner set up to have it all that way.

But I do understand your point about the $$$, I have no idea how much they would ask for the rear end off of a Raptor.

I never thought about that. I thought it was just the fenders that were, not the actual track width or frame.

ive taken one of the fx4 switches apart and found that the lock for the rear end is just a contact switch all one would have to do i think is pull the wires out of the connector of the switch and hook it up to there own switch i broke the switch i took apart to try to make it work on a side note it would lock in 2wd but the part i cut out let the switch travel to far and the copper contacts hit some resistors and burned up the switch also if the switch is ever unplugged it defaults to locked and 4wd low

I didn't even know about the offroad expo, but no I probably won't be heading to it. Not sure about gorman. My best friend and his wife (the ones with the white tacoma and blue jeep) go out there quite a bit. They went last weekend and they're going tomorrow, but unfortunately my work schedule now including Saturday afternoons/evenings, so it kind of kills any chance to go until the schedule changes.

That's also unfortunate news about the wider track width and the switch. Guess that one is completely ruled out; only leaves the ARB air locker really.

What about changing the pcm programming to the raptor program is that possible? program+raptor dash 4x4 switch = locked 2wd to 100mph.

just buy an eaton elocker. Its similar to ARB locker, but electronically operated instead of compressed air.

My fx4 already has the e-locker so I could just mount my own switch to power it. Without the raptor programing and off road mode the tcs and rsc still limit you above 35mph in 2wd and 4x4hi which = no fun. I'm trying to make this look factory. Is this possible?

At least till the screw raptor comes out then maybe I can upgrade.
