2010 F150 XLT 4x4 MPG question

Just wanted to see what type of gas mileage others are getting. I have a 2010 F150 XLT 4x4 5.4L flex fuel motor. I am getting 13.8 miles to the gallon according to my display on the instrument cluster. I drive around 12 miles on the autobahn (6 miles one way, 6 miles back) and the rest is stop and go traffic at low speeds daily. I use 93 octane gas. Is this the mpg I should be getting?

The truck is just shy of 19,000 miles. I have only owned the truck for the last 450 miles. Would the adaptive transmission have anything to do with the mpg, since I am a new driver to the truck?

Just thought I should be getting around 16 mpg at least.

Thanks

Considering most of your driving is stop and go with little high speed driving, I'd say your doing ok. Also depends on your driving habits.
I do mostly highway driving with my 2010 5.4 4x4 3.55 and average 19.4.
I use regular gas. Thats all the 5,4 requires.
Why do you use premium gas? Must get expensive with German gas prices.

No aftermarket parts.

My car requires premium gas, I guess I just put premium gas out of habit. I do get to pay normal prices for gas on base, I could not afford gas on the German economy.

My neighbor has a 2010 Lariat and is complaining about 19.3 on oversized wheels and tires.

Get 87 if possible. 93 isnt doing anything except making your wallet lighter.

I normally get 12.5 while driving in town and I'm talking San Antonio no driving stomp the breaks because you are getting cut off by some fool and 17 on the highway and I have a lead foot. Keep in mind, I am running 35's but have aftermarket intake, exhaust and programmer. I have my 09' which is the same engine programmed to run 93 octane. I never ran 93 until I installed the programmer and it changed my MPG by 2-3 mpg. If you really want to increase you fuel economy you should install an aftermarket exhaust and cold air intake. Before the lift bone-stock I was getting like 21 highway.

I've hand calculated my mileage for every fill up in every vehicle i have driven since i was 18. I have a 2010 XLT Screw 4x4 5.4L and drive less than 3 miles to work. I still put on about 10-11k year. Now i have just about 19k on my truck. K/N drop in filter, 4" Magnaflow Si/So exhaust. Neither of these have made any difference in my fuel mileage. around town i get 12-13.5. Mix some highway in there and it's about 14-15.5. 70mph on highway only about 2k rpms and i'll get 18mpg. Just did the Gotts mod, so who knows if that will help. With the stop and go, these trucks get very thirsty. So you sound to be about on par.

Over 30K miles I've averaged 15.49 MPG, hand calculated. My driving is probably 70% rural (55 mph+), 30% in-town. 2010 Supercrew XLT 5.4, 4X4, 3.55 axles with 20" wheels/tires. Mileage is pretty steady year-round...of course, winter temps here don't usually go below the 40's, but summers more than make up for them.

'09 5.4 SCAB. 14-15 in winter altho this winter has been mild in New England. 15.8 on last tank. mostly highway. i go to canada quite a bit and average around 17 doing 75 -80 up RT 95. IMHO, anyone who is getting over 18 is extremly fortunate or they drive the speed limit. I can say that keeping speed at 55-60 improves mileage dramatically. Keep your tire pressure at the max. check mine every month.

wow thought i was the only one getting such great mileage. my 2010 bone stock 5.4 with3.55 avg 15 buy the lie-o-meter in the dash, but when you do the math its a little lower at 13.6. but lets not forget its a truck not a sports car that is just made to drive where as we own a truck that is heavy and big and can tow more than most 3/4 ton Chevy's. once you take that in to account its not so bad on gas!
