Tinted 3rd Brake Light Options

What tinted third brake light options are out there?

I was looking into getting the Recon light but wanted to see if there was something better / nicer out there.

That's pretty pricey for a light.

Don't know if it's more betterer/nicer, but opted for the Pilot offering (part # TS-205S) ...

*It's definitely less $$$$$.

Have had it installed for 3months with no issues. Opted NOT to splice-into the wiring harness and fabricated connectors that are attached to the CHMSL leads and plug-into the bulb sockets.

It is but from previous purchases they really make a quality product that is plug and play which makes it worth it to me. Never had any problems with them. So many times you'll buy aftermarket lights that leak unless you silicone / RTV them prior to installation.

You could always just buy a stock one and send it to "lifted5.4lariat" on here to smoke for you. He uses PPG black with clear so it looks nice and glossy. He can do it however dark or light you want it. He could even tape off the cargo part of the light so it doesn't get smoked if you wanted but that might look kinda weird.

I just tinted mine with VHT nightshade. I just did one coat so it isn't completely black. Might be another option

I also have the Recon unit. Very good quality and the foam seal is nice and thick. I have zero issues or complaints.

Have the Recon one too, and like it overall. But the cargo light output is awful; normally I don't need it since I rarely need to get in the bed at night, but the one time I really did needed it, it was next to useless.

I did two coats of VHT nightshades. Thinking about throwing another coat on it and putting some LEDs in there.
