EcoBoost busted.... Please read

The other night in freezing temps my service advance trac warning came on, then went off, christmas morning about 5 min into my drive I got
-service advance trac
-engine over temp
- an many other warning
The truck died in the middle of the road and when I tried to restat all I got was a ding an iluminated gauge cluster the mileage on my display was blank and the truck wouldn't do any thing .... 5 min later the truck started and only a check engine light drove back home and switched vehicles, oil and coolant levels good no leaks or issues I can see, have any of you experienced this?

Sounds like a bug in your system. Have you tried unhooking the ground post on your battery for about 5 minutes? That might fix it. Sounds like my dads new jeep Cherokee. It was doin crazy stuff like that. The dealer had to reflash his computer. But it's doin good so far LOL! Either way good luck..

There is a post on here somewhere. Another guy had a similar problem and i think he had a few loose grounds and needed a ecu reflash.

but seriously, the same thing happened to my 04 with the NEW 5.4 3valve V8. Was driving down the highway and got the chk engine light, and engine went into limp mode, 6cylinders. Ford Reprogrammed the ECU and never had a problem since, they probably just bypassed the bad sensor.

So are you going to take the truck to the dealer? If so please let us know what feedback you get.

Sounds like a power issue. Maybe the dealer should look at the electrical system. Keep us posted.

Edit: Oh and your thread title is very mis-leading. It sounds like you blew a turbo or something major

my 08 4.2L V6 has gone into limp mode twice and i bought it brand new in sept 08 with 159 miles on it. both times it was below 10 degrees outside. i just have to pull over and shut the truck off, then start it again and its fine. did it in the winter of 08 and 2010. in 08 my truck just had the intake on it, in 2010 it was intake and tuner.
