Homelink addition?

Is the wiring for the homelink visor already in the truck? Do i just need to plug-and-play? I am considering adding this my 2010 FX2. Any info would be welcome.

If you have the Charcoal interior this will help you.

You could also consider a "FLash 2 Pass" , it works off a double click of the high beams and is totally hidden, I've got it on my truck, motorcycle and atv.Works great !

I forgot to answer your question. Yes the wiring is there. If you have the illuminated mirror than without a doubt it's there. It uses the same power connection. I would imagine the connection is there in every truck. I mean the connection is there for the trailer brake controller so I can't see why this wouldn't be but who knows just pull two bolts and find out for yourself.

The wiring is not there, you have to tap into your light on the mirror.

If you have the illuminated mirror it uses the same plug. I'm talking about the OEM visor, not the Homelink module.

Thanks everyone, I am looking at ordering the visor and not just the module. So I am thinking plug and play...

i'd try and do the mod, it's ALOT cheaper and isn't hard. Takes about an 1-1 1/2 hours and cost $20 and it will look/be factory.

I've done 3 or 4 now, it's pretty straight forward and well worth the savings to try it on your own first.

Did you do a write up of the home link install into the stock visor?
I thought I read one somewhere, that discussed how to get the visor apart and where to purchase the module.

google escape city homelink install and a link should come up. It's very straight forward, a little intimidating the first time but overall very simple.

you need to make sure you buy the right homelink, rolling code vs. non rolling code. one of those works on both, the other only works on like neighborhood gates not garage doors. Its says in the thread tho.

And I'd highly suggest not using a screwdriver to tuck the fabric back inside. I would use a plastic putty knife or something similar.

Good idea. I didn't like how the guide said a screwdriver, not the Escape City guide. I should of thought about it more, but that's my fault, so I ended up ripping my fabric. Oh well, my OEM one should be here by the end of the week. It's only money right? LOL
