MBRP or Magnaflow?

I'm trying to make the decision. I would be going with the MBRP XP Series single rear exit or the Magnaflow single rear exit.

Difference in kits... Magnaflow is made out of 304 vs 409, probably not a big deal in Florida. 409 is comparable to what comes out of the OEM. The Magnaflow comes with band clamps vs u-bolt exhaust clamps which I despise. I can get the Magnaflow kit for $550 vs $410 for the MBRP.

Whatever kit you get, I would get it welded.

The MBRP is available in both grades of stainless, and comes with band clamps as well. I have installed probably ten+ MBRP systems and really like them. Had some drone on the 2010 F150 kit (SIDO), but still liked it. Their fit is great.

From what I'm seeing it only comes in aluminized and 409. What do you think about the kits? Do the kits have any drone?

So it doesn't come with u bolt clamps anymore? It comes with band clamps? When was the last time you got one? Kind of confused. I've seen pictures and installation photos from people on here, although those were from 2009 or early 2010, and they had u bolt clamps. If it really does have band clamps than it will almost be done. LOL

Today I can get 15% off of the kit I'm looking at so it will only be $410 shipped.

I have a SIDO kit I took off my 2010 sitting in the garage. It has band clamps, as did the kit on my 2005, 2007, and 2008. My kits have been 409, and they don't stay shiny. The mufflers do, but after I tow several hundred miles, they turn a brass color from the heat. The pipes and tips don't change.

Thanks for all of the info! I really didn't want to have to spend more money on a set of quality band clamps. So does the kit have any drone on the highway? Do you have a 5.0L or EB?

Mine is a 2010 5.4L. I had drone with the original muffler they provided, but mainly when towing my travel trailer. They sent me a baffled muffler, and I had no drone. It was a bit quieter, but still nice.

I reinstalled the kit last spring with the straight through muffler and loved it. I only had issues with towing when it was pulling a hill. Then it bellard and the DW didn't like it. I'm trading up soon, so I took it offto sell it. Would I buy it again? Heck ya! If you lived close, you could have the kit for $100.

I've got until tonight but really think I'm going to pull the trigger on it. I hear a lot of people saying the Magnaflow isn't loud enough. Some people even say it drones but not really sure if they know drone. I'm not looking for anything LOUD. I drove a 600 hp Mustang with no cats... I'm tired of that. LOL

Good for you, Nasty! Let us know how it goes. I recommend anti-seize on the joints in case you want to adjust it or pull it off at a later date. You may say you never will, but I assure you it is a cheap step in the installation... Especially on the tips.

Well the kit came in today. It was damaged and it had u bolt clamps instead of band clamps. Now I have to deal with the returning.
