When you see the 2012 in person, you will change your mind. It looks as real as you will get from anything, any process, or any material not actually wood. I've seen it, and the satin look is perfect. The light wood in the 2011 only looked fair in the black interior, but with the tan it was ugly and cheap.

Real wood is way to expensive to make, it doesn't take abuse, and the Feds probably prohibit wood for safety reasons.

Same goes for me, I almost bought the Lariat but that DASH bothered me, I really like the dash in my FX4

wow, much better IMO. That would have made my decision for FX4 or Lariat much more difficult.

when i get a couple extra bucks that balsa looking crap wood in my 2011 lariat is gone. thats the worse thing i can say about the truck except there is no grab handle on the drivers position to get in and out with

Yup, plus it splinters when it gets hit. Not the best thing to have on your dash in the event of an accident.

Sure there is. It's called a steering wheel. Couple million trucks a year times thirty bucks a copy equals BIG SAVINGS.
