HEY, I represent that remark! Speak for yourself (and most everyone else on the forum.) I happen to like the light wood interior trim in the 2011 Lariat. Of course I had the olive ash wood trim in my 2009 Lincoln MKS and nobody on the MKS forum liked that color either.

I admit that the new trim for 2012 does look nice though.

I agree that it is all a matter of taste. I will say the lighter wood tone looked alright to me in the tan interiored trucks. But judging by all the feedback I have seen on these forums and others, I am gonna guess that the overall reaction is positive to the change.

Look's like they went a little too dark. Look's like the old Mr.Coffee look!

So is the wood color the only thing that changed? Did Ford update anything else (especially in the infotainment interface)? I read that the 2012's were coming with Pandora internet radio, so I don't know if that means they had to change any hardware too.

Maybe on black interiors it would look ok but on tan it looks cheap and tacky. Just my opinion though. If I had my choice it would be brushed aluminum or black wood like in the platinum. Nothing says class like fake wood right? Lol

I'll stick with an XLT, aside from the electronic gizmos, why the heck would I want fake wood trim? Screw that. It's all taste, but it looks so cheap to me.

I don't really care for wood trim but that doesn't look too bad.

2nd that the 2011 light grain was bad. This is what turned me away from the Lariat and went with the FX4. Soooooo glad I did. I love my FX4 inside & out. 2012 wood grain is better, but for that price it should be real wood.

Exactly, it should be real wood. That's why I am not a fan of the Lariats or even any trim over an XLT much anymore. It's all fake plastic crap that costs thousands more. B&I makes a really nice wood grain kit that looks much better than that.

I agree with you on that. XLT interior has advanced tremendously the last few years. If they'd just have painted bumpers as an option....

I'm just the opposite, I like the chrome with fogs, timeless look and they stay in better shape. One less painted surface to worry about, but certain trucks look great with the PTM stuff

Bugs are a lot easier to get off a chrome bumper.

For my use, the tan interior is too light. It will show the dirt too quickly.

Side question: How many people prefer the 5 seat supercrew versus the split bench front?

I need the bench in the front for a stack of radios on the center hump and the dealers within 500 miles tend to order the center shifter truck instead.
