My 09 F150 FX4 with the 5.4 has been having venting issues when I go to fill the fuel tank. Compression builds up and shuts off the pump every few gallons. I do have the cap less system which I am guessing is whats causing the issue. Does anyone have a simple fix for this issue?

 

Does this happen at all gas stations or just one in particular?

Also if you're in the habbit of topping off the tank when filling you could of inadvertently filled the vent tub and if the vent tube has gas in it it will not let the pump fill normally....

Check for dips in the vent tube that could trap gas....

 

It does it at every gas station.. My fear is it is some kind of sensor that is gone that is going to be a pain to replace.
