Steel aftermarket hood - 09 up

Has anyone installed one of these from Carolina Classic Truck?
Considering picking one up on a trip south soon.

I was wondering that too. I'll check.
I don't have my new truck yet. Does the stock hood have springs to hold it up or a prop rod?

Yes, shocks. I forgot about shocks So they might not hold up a steel hood. I'll ask Carolina Truck about that.

It could be cast iron and still weigh less than the Raptor hood...

No, it's something called RIM, or Reaction Injection Molding. But it does weigh about 3 times what the standard F150 aluminum hood weighs.

PLASTIC ! Must be good plastic as it must withstand the heat of the desert sun and dents from rocks etc !

They use polymer to make guns. I'm sure a hood will be A-OK.

I heard back from Carolina Classic Trucks. They say the shocks will hold it up, no problem. I need to pick it up at a different location however, so gotta plan ahead.
