eco boost
Along the lines of the Hemi discussion above, the poor little Chevy 5.3 isn't even in the same ballpark. I was driving on a 2-lane rural highway one night and got stuck behind a guy in an extended cab Chebby running 8-10 below the speed limit. After quite some time, I finally had a clean passing lane and eased around him. As I got beside him, he decided he didn't want me to pass and he punched it. I let the EB loose and walked off like he was sitting still...
Those numbers for GM are on Premium fuel (93 octane). 87 octane numbers are lower @ 383hp, although I've seen reports of much lower in the 360's. My guess is you'll run into a 6.2L running 87 octane and show him our rear lights.

Quoting an old post but he had a point.
I test drove the 5.0 and then the EB. What I wanted to see was how good each truck was from standing start to the power band.
My baseline was my 2005 5.4 as good.
The 5.0 liter was better.
And the the EB was the best. In my opinion.
So I ordered the Ecoboost truck.
