Just make sure if you're going to mess with a Chevy that the tailpipe is elbowed behind the rear tire and isn't straight out under the bumper. The straight out version is a 6.2 (403 HP/413 ft/lbs) and that would be a MUCH closer race as the GM is a lighter truck.

Those numbers for GM are on Premium fuel (93 octane). 87 octane numbers are lower @ 383hp, although I've seen reports of much lower in the 360's. My guess is you'll run into a 6.2L running 87 octane and show him our rear lights.

How much gas will can you save in a year with EB over 5.0 ?? in a screw 4x4..

^ not much if any at all, but you get forged internals and 40lb-ft more torque. That's worth $750 to me.

Quoting an old post but he had a point.

I test drove the 5.0 and then the EB. What I wanted to see was how good each truck was from standing start to the power band.

My baseline was my 2005 5.4 as good.

The 5.0 liter was better.

And the the EB was the best. In my opinion.

So I ordered the Ecoboost truck.
