I knew you were old, but not this old.

Ineeded to be able to downshift to pass at 65 mph or so.
well, i'm also not a fan of the edge either. had issues with that as well. the edge products just aren't a fan of me i guess. sct ftw!

Got my first car when I was 14 in 1957. Fixed up a 1950 Plymouth and traded twice till I got a 1951 Ford coupe and then a 1954 Ford coupe.

I ran level 3 on the Edge for 31,000 miles and then PHP custom tune for about 72,000 miles. I thought I was satisfied with the Edge until I got the PHP tune. I could not do without the gauges the Edge provides. Would like to have them on this 2011.

Back to the OP's question - I have a 2011 EB Lariat, and occasionally there's a rough shift, almost like someone hit you, but not quite as bad. It was doing it occasionally while driving with VERY light throttle pressure in my first few days of ownership. When it's cold outside, the shift from neutral to drive is pretty harsh, but only the 1st one - after that, it's smooth sailing.

my 5.0 is rough down shift free, not sure why those trucks you test drove were doing it. So far 1,300 miles on my 5.0 and loving every second
