I don't have my high beams on, stop flashing me!!!

I don't know if it's me but people are flashing me the high beams way too often. I almost never use my high beams. I guess the standard beam is pretty bright, and the truck is a little taller than some cars.

Anyone else with stock headlights getting flashed for having the brights on when they aren't?

I get flashed alot too. I guess it's just the right angle for smaller cars to get right in their face...

Are you cresting a hill each time? That would make sense since your main beam is directly in their face.

If you want to fix it yourself; adjusting the headlights downward is pretty easy...there are two round openings in the top of the headlight assembly into which you can insert (and turn) a Phillips screwdriver to raise or lower the beams. I would suggest parking your truck in the garage or facing a wall and marking the top of each light's pattern with blue tape, then adjust them down equally below the tape lines. Not much, maybe an inch or so. There is no side-to-side adjustment to worry about.

It happens to me all the time too, so much so that I began to wonder if I had them on by mistake. Always they were not on.

I've gotten it to, my lights are fine. It's usually cresting a hill, some people can't seemt o figure that out. Although I find the factory Hids glare so much in my face. Makes it miserable

Thats odd....I never get flashed with my HID in the heads and fogs....probably has something to do with my headlights being almost 5" lower....

I think you may find that it's just the fact that you're in a truck that sits higher than some (mostly smaller) cars. See if the folks that are flashing you are just sitting lower than you. I tend to notice when I'm driving my Scion xB that many more cars headlights look brighter than when I'm driving my F-150. Again it's the difference in the height of the headlights.

I remember a couple of years ago when I pulled up behind a car load of kids in a clapped out Civic - which was sitting low enough without all 12 of them in it. I had a set of 130 watt Hellas behind the grill hooked to the high beams - which BTW weren't on. Sitting at the light, my low beams lit up the whole interior and they were all screaming and telling me I was number 1. I motioned that I didn't have the high beams on - and they still screamed. So, I let 'em have it with the high beam / driving light show. That shut them up. Several got a nice tan too. I think most of them will remember that moment for the rest of their lives - or until their sight returns.

I think you'll find that the height issue is what led to Ford lowering where the headlights are mounted on the newer Super Duty trucks - which sit even higher.

i get flashed multiple times everytime i drive at night, but i thought it was only because i never repositioned my headlights after i put the leveling kit on.

My thought is that you have a stock lighting and suspension and you're getting flashing you on straight roadways, something is wrong with your alignment. Properly aligned lights won't tick off driver's and a vast majority of cases.

Yours is more so that you put the leveling kit on without adjusting them.....
