New rear shocks for lifted truck.
New rear shocks for lifted truck.
I'm not happy with the Rough Country shocks that came with my lift. The rubber stopper has come loose and they have always had a lot of play on the top mount so I'm looking for something else. The rear replaced the factory block with a 4" block, to give you an idea on the length.
Not looking for super stiff since a lot of my driving is down a country road that is more of a wash board than anything else.

the adjustable bilsteins are for 1 or 2" lift. i don't have a clue what you are trying to do though if you want lift out of it as well.
post up specs on your truck and what you want done to it and you will get some better answers.

I am going to assume you are already lifted (pretty sure of it) and you have the lift bumped up with a level kit or something similar?
I'd look at the bilsteins as suggested in the 5100 series. The 5125 monotubes in the rear are excellent as are the piggyback 5150's in the rear. I'd also look at adding a bit of length to whatever you buy, only because I am figuring you are looking for more lift and may be 'topped out' with your current shocks afterwards. It is a not so fancy wording for having no downward travel because they are already extended most of the way at normal ride height.
upfront, again as suggested, I'd look at the ride height (preload) adjustable 5100 bilsteins. These offer an excellent ride for the money. Outside of that option your stepping up to coilovers which are expensive, but worth it in my book both on and off road. However, if you are going to be 'cranking them up' (meaning putting more preload on the spring to lift the truck) the ride will be effected by firming up a bit depending on how much you crank.
My experience has been that cranking to 2"+ will really take out all the shock absorbancy and leave little to no give off road, but on road it can fair pretty well (similar to riding in an 250+ type work truck would be a good description).
A lot is dependent on your budget, what you want, and what you use your truck for.
EDIT: I just saw your title was for rears so disregard my front applications, unless your looking to spend more money

Looking for rear only, fronts are fine. Didn't mean for it to be such a cluster lol

I'm posting from my phone so bare with me. Im not looking for any additional lift, just shocks to replace the ones that came with the 6" rough country lift. To gain lift in the rear they sent a 4" replacement block, I need a shock that will work with the bigger block.

I'd look at these:
Extended length Bilstein 5125's monotube
Extended length Bilstein 5150's piggyback
Or step up to a king, fox, camburg, icon piggyback/remote res. setup.
You might also check out some of the bilstein 7100 series stuff if you do a lot of off roading.
