What is everyone towing with their EcoBoost and what does it weigh????

 

Track bikes for now. Total weight is about 1200 lbs with trailer. Obviously I don't even feel it behind me but I'll be getting an enclosed 7 x 12 V-Nose soon which is why I bought this truck.

 

25' travel trailer, 7500lbs loaded.Eco tows it perfect.....

30' travel trailer, 7500#, over 10' tall. It's a brick but pulls it great.

 

I just pulled my 27' travel trailer with my 11' Eb and I couldnt tell I had anything behind me. Now with my old 2008 5.4L, well the 5.4 struggled alot on long hills. I was decided on the 5.0L then I drive an EB and I knew the EB would have the upper hand over the 5.0
I am sure the 5.0L tows great, just works a little harder running the RPM's up higher than where the EB would be. I am trading next week for a 34' (ball to bumper) travel tailer weighing at 7,200lbs empty. Excited to see how it does, I am sure it will be fine.

Not to go too far off topic, but how do you make a turn with that 5th wheel on your 5.5 bed in the picture?

One reason I bought my '09 (sorry, not an EB) is to someday pull a nice camper, but I thought I would be restricted to a tag-a-long.

I'd love to be able to pull a 5th wheeler like you have pictured - how is it done?

 

24x8.5 enclosed trailer with my RZR-S and drag Raptor 700 inside, loaded with tools and everything, it is around 7,000 lbs.

With the old tires (33x12.50r20 Toyo MT's), I would get around 8mpg pulling this setup doing between 60 and 70 on mostly flat highway. I switched to 305/50r20 Nitto Terra Grapplers about a month ago, but I haven't pulled the trailer yet...but the mileage should increase quite a bit hopefully (the nittos are 47 lbs a piece compared to the Toyo's at 71 each).

 

Sliding 5th wheel mount. Expensive but neat...move back to turn and suck it up close on the straights...still have to watch that it works so you don't crash the back window. Haven't worked out all the bugs/measurements yet. Probably get a different plate for the camper. They make them for short and deeper (ie Ford) beds.

Basically, it moves the pivot point from the hitch to the trailer, giving you more clearance.

You can order it from the factory on some fifth wheels, or you can add it on an existing trailer. I have this on my Flagstaff that I tow with my 6.5' bed F250. I love it...no worries about hitting the truck with the trailer!

What are you guys averaging for MPG with these loads hooked up?

 

I haven't hardly towed anything yet so far with my eb. Heaviest load so far was 2-1 ton pallets of pellets on a 7000# tandem, with another 1000lbs of pellets on the bed. I went all of 8 miles with that load. It did pull beautifully though, short as it was.

I've only towed the ATV once so far since I've owned the truck.

As winter nears, I'll do some lightweight towing a little more.
