When all this is over and done, you might want to say who the dealer is.

Ya really, the guy is having problems and looking for answers or people with the same situations. If you can cruise 3 different forums, why cant the OP post on 3 different sites?

X2, sounds like the lousy dealer service where I purchased my truck. I had my truck in for a small blemish repair on the driver's side rocker/door sill area. It came back three days later with black paint overspray over the complete truck, front to rear and top to bottom. My truck is Race Red. Three trips to the dealer later and a letter to the Service Director and it was fully detailed. I will not purchase from them again.

The kicker, no one seems to care, Ford or the Dealership. So much for purchasing from a volume dealer.

These are some of the same reasons I stopped driving GM products in 1994. I have intermittent rattles throughout the interior that magically go away when the truck is in the service Dept.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your troubles.

As for the scratches and gas......tell them to get bent.......its their dime that should pay for that....
The dealership can put the gas on their credit card. Then, they claim the fuel cost on the warranty repair up to a certain amount and/or gallons. The OP should not have paid for his own gas.

we have 15 of these trucks running across the US, and one of them has had a similar problem. it had a miss in the engine that they couldn't fix. had it for 7 WEEKs, Took the heads off of hit, put all new ignition and coils on it, and still did it. Took it back and they had it another week and said oh yea, this is normal for the 5.0s. What crap. I told the guy to run it hard, and see if it fails. If it does, they can deal with it. So he has been flogging it, and it is not failing, so I don't really know what the deal is.
He pulled a trailer with it, and said that it doesn't miss when you pull a trailer. Weird.

A coworker of mine bought his 2011 SCREW 5.0 after I got my 3.5 TT SCREW... he got the 5.0 because in his words "that Ecoboost could be trouble". anyway now he is having trouble and the dealer is telling him they can find no problem and not even a diagnostic code on the computer. He says while driving down the road the truck starts running rough and then there is no throttle response.. the check engine lights up and he looses power forcing him to pull off the road "as if he has a choice at that point". After he turns the truck off then restarts it, it seems to run fine the rest of the trip to work. Here is his UTube video he took this morning to show me... Anyone else have an idea? The dealer said they have "never heard of one doing this"... I find that hard to believe! :P

The same thing was happening to two of the diesel ambulances at my work. Ended up being water in the fuel we were buying. So we stopped using that gas station and the problem went away... That might be a problem with this truck and OP's.

The truck was used for deliveries, taking customers home, or to get food for the day. Usually how it works if a vehicle needs test driven.

I've had issues with pinging on Shell 87 octane E10 gas at two different stations lately. I plan on swapping to Conoco in hopes that it will not return.

My 5.0 stalled off-idle yesterday morning, in 68* weather with about 90% humidity after about three minutes of driving. I went to accelerate off-idle from a stop sign. The truck just died... There were no beeps, warning lights, nothing. The only thing I noticed was the oil light (genie lamp) illuminated (blue) after the truck died. I put it in park, restarted and went back to the house. I drove it later in the day with no issues.

Anyone else having this concern?

James

That could have something to do with winter blend gas on a warm humid day.

I have 9900 miles on mine as of last night. No problems to report. Runs like a top and gets fantastic mpg. Got 22.7 on the trip last night(with a slight tail wind).

We really don't have winter blend fuels this far south. Not much call for them. I did try a different gas station the last fill-up. I'll try a different station next time.

The truck likes to ping on Shell 87 from two different stations. So, I decided to go with Phillips 66.
