Just love my Ecoboost. 2012 F150 4x4 - Screw - 3.55 - First highway trip to Vancouver, BC, about 60 miles at 63 mph on cruise (250 miles on truck) got 24.1 mpg (us) equals 28.9 mpg (cdn) - WOW.
Could not wait for the mountain trip over the Coquihalla highway to see my mom. By this time about 500 miles on truck. Its a 4 hour trip, first hour flat highway and then 2 hours of up/down slopes with up to 6% grades, some as long as 15 minutes (had to get used to the display which is in degrees). The last hour 2 lane winding road and then 10 minutes town driving. All the time I was on cruise control at 63 mph except for the winding road at the end. Believe it or not the ecoboost stayed in 6th gear on the steepest hill and never shifted down, thats torque. The trip up my average was 12.2 Ltr/100 Km which is 19.4 mpg us and 23.2 cdn.
On the return trip I decided to manually shift down while watching my mileage graph. Keeping the same speed but 2 gears down (4th) on the big hills my mileage improved nicely because were not lugging it.
Total trip mileage on return trip 11.1 Ltr / 100 Km or 21.3 mpg us and 25.6 cdn.

Very impressed with the mileage, power and how nice it shifts. Basically do not feel it shifting, even on manual.

Just for kicks I drove into Vancouver yesterday at a steady 80 km/hr (50 mph) and my mileage was:26.9 us and 32.3 cdn. You want to save on fuel, go ecoboost.

And keep the speed down.

That is great to here but both guys at my shop have eco boost in FX4 and only getting in the range of 13-15mpg.Both of them are not happy with that. They both have 3.73gears and 20" tires.

I have just over 6000 miles on mine now and I have averaged 18.61 mpg (hand calculated). The worst MPG I have calculated on a tank is 17.55 and the best was 20.33 mpg. My driving is about 80/20 hwy/city.It is hard to stay out of the boost, I just can't baby it all the time.... I am hoping it gets a little bit a better, but I am fine if it stays the same.

I have the same setup but Lariat and have been driving mostly flat highways in Ontario. Only 300km on truck and have averaged 12.7l/100km. Dealer told me to run a few tanks before watching fuel economy, also I will put a tonneau on which shouldnt hurt things.

I've got the 4x4 EB SCREW 2012 Lariat 3.55 20"ers. I average 16-17mpg computer calc'd with 2k+ miles on it so far. Less than I'd hoped for, but it's still really nice. I do mostly highway commute, but traffic can be fierce. Seems to get better mileage as the engine warms up.

I think a lot of people fail to understand that running a boosted vehicle is a different beast when "bad" driving habits are factored in. Folks expect a drop in mileage with a heavy foot, but superchargers and turbos magnify the effect exponentially. Power comes at a price, and when we drive powerful vehicles that pump out tons of power we tend to smash the gas to enjoy the added performance. If you drive aggressively, don't expect to see anywhere near the 20 mpg advertised. Just a few WOT runs will kill mileage for an entire tank.

Man, you ain't kidding. I'll baby 3/4 of a tank and one time I need to drill a chebby (apparently they didn't get the memo that none of their trucks can currently keep up with a EB) my avg is toast. It can go from 16 avg to 14.5 just after a few WOT runs for the entire tank. Oh well, killing the Gubment Motors crap is so worth it

First tank of gas ran 11.5l/100km or 20.5 MPG.
3.55 rear end, 18 inch rims, 4 x4 super crew lariat.
Run likely 80% highway miles between 80 - 115km/hr
Im extremely happy with mileage so far, came from a 2003 5.4 V8 4x4 with3.73 rear end and averaged 15l/100km or 15.7mpg

I think I would get the EB for the power it has and not the fuel economy. My 5.4L gets 20 mpg on highway, not much less than the EB.

I have the same set-up as the 2 guys at your shop and the same results.
I love the truck and the power but the gas mileage sucks!

Maybe it will get better but I'm not holding my breath. I'm getting a tad better than the 02 I traded in, so I can live with it.

Also something to consider....When the EPA does their "highway" testing they really are doing rural highway runs, not freeway runs. Their speed doesn't get up to freeway speed. IIRC they only go up to 55 or 60 mph. You'll also notice that many people say they get decent mileage around 65 and that is the sweet spot. My mileage has gone down a bit since I bought my truck. Then again I get into it more than I used to and have some fun with it. I'm still getting close to 20 mpg in about 50/50 rural hwy and city driving. I am very pleased with my mileage, since my last F-150 would only get about 16mpg in mixed driving.

Thats about right for around town MPG, and thats whats advertised. Now if thats what they get HWY then yeah I might be upset. 20's are also probably a good way to kill 1-2mpg as well. I had stock 17's on a chevy and then went to stock 20's on that truck and it took off I think 1-1.3mpg.

That is a viable option, but just remember the 4.6l engine is not predecessor of the ecoboost. The 5.4l is. Your comment makes about as much sense as someone saying they are going to keep their Ranger for the better fuel mileage. Absolutely it has better economy, but it also comes at the price of not having the abilities of the ecoboost.

Edited to add: I been able to spin the tire going straight on dry pavement at about 25-30mph.
