Ouch, I understand the truck was beat on 24/7, but it still is a little disappointing. Anyword on other EB's in the fleet?

It could be something else....like the flux capacitor or radiator or hose....I'd have it checked out before declaring the EB egnine is dead. If the engine is dead that would be sad.

This is the only EB they have now but are suppose to be getting some more anytime now. 2 more EB's, 2 5.0s and 2 6.2s. They are getting ready to sell some of the 09's they have and these trucks will take over. Im actually thinking about buying one of the 09's. I can probaly get one for $4000

Im headed over there after work and if the truck is there i will get a video of it, they left out late this morning so it may not be there.

on a side note they have several 09's with the 5.4 and they are around 260-278,000 miles and still running strong, other than burning a little bit of oil

They must not drive the 09's that much cause if they were doing 800 miles a day then they should have 292k in one year on each truck.

It's not 800 miles a day every day for a year. It just depends on how many tests they have coming up and what vehicles they use

They havent had any problems on the 09 trannys. The 11 5.0 they had a transmission go out around 82k miles.

I think the situation with the 5.0 tells you how hard they are running these vehicles. Remember that that engine blew also.

Interesting that the EB held up as well as the 5.0.

When the knock started, the truck should have gone in. It may, or may not have saved the engine. Of course it was down on power, as it was in limp (please get me fixed) mode.
