4 things that really kill my mileage is idleing, wind, wet conditions and going over 70 mph.

Im sure the platnium will get better. I love the EB but I think the next time around I will try the 6.2.

I'm totally happy with my 5.0 except now I want that Roush SC on it. Don't know when I would use it, but that's the old hot rodder in me.

I'm trying to talk the guy at work into a drag race just to see how close the 5.0 can stay with the EB.

I now have 12,000 miles on my 5.0 and I have never reset my trip meter A, it shows 15.1 mpg. I seem to get about 17hwy and 12 city. Should have kept my 08 5.4...

Mine has averaged between 15-17 mpg, driven daily about 30 miles round trip with numerous stop lights. It's very close to how my 08 Lariat was.

I'm working on him! It will probably be the first 5.0/EB race between drivers 68 and 70 years old.

after 8000 miles, my fuel consumption remains relatively poor.
also found that the computer is off by about 8%. it thinks it's getting better mileage than it is. the computer says 14.5 after a tank of fuel every time...but it also says i've only burned 31gl, when i've actually burned 33.

this truck has the 3.73 gears and has a retrax cover on the bed. always unloaded and running the 20" wheels. love the truck, it just doesn't get the mileage that's advertised, in my experience. no hot-rodding either. half highway, half city. that said, it will do near 22mpg strictly highway.

Are those factory 20s? you won't get as good a mileage with the 20s, but if you have changed tire height, your calculations will be off.

My computer is dead on as long as I don't top off. One other thing, are your gallons off at different stations? Could be the pump at the station is off. I had one place where that happened.

i fill up until the pump stops, and usually use different stations all the time.

It a guy at work with a 5.0 in a 2011 F150 went to the local drag strip and out ran 4 EB in a row. I also saw a utube videos of the same. The EB are not a race motor it is a perfect work motor. And that is what we won't..
