I thought I would also put out some other info I noticed today on the Fleet data base.
12' MY is showing JOB 1 @ 10/24/11 for any 2012 F150
11' Last JOB showing @ 10/21/11

That seems like to short of a window to make any real changes to the line. Makes me the think the trucks are pretty much carry overs from 11. The 21st is a Friday the 24th is a Monday.

Shick, is the truck you ordered a F250 or F150. I am seeing 2011 production is set to run through 10-21-11, If it is a 150 I am not sure how accurate there September build date info is. Unless some plants will build 12s while others still build 11s. Which I guess could be how it is done. Not real sure on that.

Kind of nice not to have something that is updated before you have it 2 months for a change

However they have updated the build date this week reguarding the 58A NAV system. It has been showing TBD, it has changed to now showing Job 1 for 2012 MY F150s with 58A Nav option is seting at 11/1/11, and no longer saying TBD for the 58A. So that is really good news for those that were wanting F150s with NAV. at least we know when they plan to start building them again. That is probably not good news if you were thinking they were going to switch to my ford touch, which I am still not sure what they difference is between the 2.
I ask the dealership about the information on the fleet site and they said that only applied to fleet service vehicles not normal sales.

That chart doesn't say anything about the 2012 F150's.

That is not really true at all.

They do not build fleet trucks on a separate line from the regular line.
Like for example Job 1 for 2012 is still job one fleet or non fleet.
When the 11s end they don't keep building them for fleet only. I have full list details on all models. For example the charts I was pulling the data from earlier had details on every truck including Harley's, LTDs ect. not just base work trucks.
I can also read the non fleet just regular DNBs nothing to do with fleet. The order guides are also not fleet specific, except for maybe the livery model section, or law enforcement section those get into some specialty products.
Sometimes there are specific final fleet order dates that can be different from retail final order dates, but not normally different by more then a couple weeks. Production dates as far as job 1 or last job are always the same, un;ess its a discontinued product like the crown vic, it could be order and built longer then a retail crown vics. That seldom ever happens, in this case it was a taxi, law invocement deal that kept the plant going for those special applications. After that ended the production ended all together.

Talked to the dealership this morning, my order should be pulled and scheduled next week. They said no stock orders for nav were being filled but special orders were ok for nav. If a dealer tells you he can't order you a truck with nav then go to another dealer because he is full of it.

I truely do hope your order does go on through like they are telling you, However the order/production schedual does now show NAV back on line and no longer TBD for 2012 production, start date is posted 11-1-11 as 2012 models, it still shows no longer availble for 2011.

I got my truck last week, had to range way out and buy direct from the dealer that had it. Then had to have it trucked in, but I got 1 of 2 gloss black 6.2L. Platinums with NAV in the country.

I had 4 dealers trying to locate me a truck in that configuration, and they all said NAV was no longer availble to order for 2011, that we were limited to what was out there.

So I hope your order does not set there clean unschedualed. There system sometimes takes orders and then they just set there on there system. I had 3 F450s chassis cabs that had a production constraint items on them(std tires) they set there 6 months 2 months were past there schedualed dates, then had to be re ordered as 2012s. They now are set for production last week of Aug but who knows. After the past 6 months I am not counting on anything till they have moved up to production status. Clean unschedualed with a project build date does not seem to mean much at ford these days.

The dealer had a meeting with Ford about my order and my business partners order this morning as both trucks were ordered with nav. My order should get pulled and scheduled early next week my partners truck the following week. They told me as long as the truck is a sold special order they can get the nav. They cannot get the nav for a dealer stock order just to sit on the lot. I am glad you got the truck you wanted. I feel confident I will get mine as ordered as the salesman is a good buddy of mine and if it was not going to happen he would tell me I was SOL.

Since my truck was not being purchased under my fleet number since I was taking the retail 0/% 60 deal.
I did ask if it could be special retail ordered, 2 of the dealers I was working with were retail sales , 2 were my regular fleet sales guys and all 4 said no.

They all spent 2 weeks trying to locate one that another dealer would give up, and since I had asked them all if I could just special order, I tried everything I could to make sure the info I was given was accurate since it cost about grand more to have one trucked in the way I did.

The regular guys I dael with said they probably could put the order in, but it would not get built do to the Nav being on constraint. There were quite a few guys on the Raptor forum saying the same thing. Some had special ordered trucks in the sytem that were only going to get built if they took the Nav off.

I know there are some dealers that actually read there Ford bulitons and others that don't and some just make stuff up. Thats a lot of the reason I went through so many different ones to make sure I could not do what you are talking about.

So again I do hope it works like they say but I have my doubts. Please keep us all posted, I for one would like to know if I have been mislead by all the dealers I was working with. I could have saved a grand if I would have ordered one, and on a similar note if the 4 I was working with were wrong, they lost the sale, because in the end there were only 2 out there and neither dealer would trade them to any of the 4 I was working with, and I ended up buying one direct from the dealer that had it located over 800 miles away.

Well thats pretty much the same thing I did, only I tried a couple other 1/2 tons befor ending up with the 6.2L raptor last year. The 6.2L motor in the F150 was finally perfect for my pulling needs, just the suspension was not really setup for what I was using it for and this year swapted over to the platinum to get the same motor but much better suspension for pulling a trailer. I think this time I fianally have the right truck for my needs. Loved the 7.3 Superduties, not so much with 6.0s, hince the search for good half ton with a strong enough gas motor to do what I needed it too. Tryied the 5.7 Hemi then the 6.0 Max Chevy prior to the 6.2L Raptor. The 5.7 was decent, the 6.0 Max chevy not so much, ran strong but didn't pull as well as the Dodge. The 6.2L ford handely out pulled them both, nearly as well as the old 7.3L SDs I had.

cc1999, I think your timing was just bad. I think your dealers were honest with you at that time and there were not Nav units. A lot has changed in the past week or two and the Nav units are coming through again so they are scheduling some trucks (sold). Or Ford still has a stock pile of them and they are freeing them up for orders as they see the Sony plant come back online and start shipping units again. As supplies get better in the weeks ahead they will be available for any orders. Just my opinion.
