Keyless remote died

Keyless remote stopped working in my 2009 f150. Changed the battery in the remote and it's still dead. Any ideas? Did anyone had this problem before?? What to look for before I'll go to the dealer??

If the dealer can't/won't fix it under warranty, you can buy standard (no alarm) remotes from ikeyless.com (for a lot less $ than the dealer).

If you do get a new remote, you must program ALL remotes (see your owner's manual).

It's most likely the box that reads the signal, inside the truck. Mine went out on my dodge. The key fob quit working & it wouldnt crank or do anything when you turned the key...

SO I got on the dodge forum & found that the boxes go bad occasionally & you can unplug fuse #11 under the hood, controls the box. unplugging the fuse disables it and will let you crank the truck w/o it needing to read the key (Security stuff...) only downside was it controlled the radio too... IT was quiet... for a few hours...

Long story short I plugged it back in the next day & the box had reset it self & I didnt have any more problems out of it... until I sold the truck a month or 2 later...

Replacing the box and having the keys programmed to the new box was going to cost around $300+...

So do some digging and see if the Ford's have the same setup, see if you can just unplug the fuse and get by so you can atleast drive home.

Any word? I was curious as to whether the ford's have the same issue w/ the box as my 07 dodge...
