Texas Edition
I'm proud of being a Texan, and I was attracted to the Texas Edition F150, but as far as I could determine, the TE F150 is usually a relatively unequipped version of the XLT Supercrew, with a chrome package and not much more. Ultimately, I bought the truck I wanted (Ecoboost, rearview camera, side-steps, etc.), then I bought the badge on eBay and attached it myself
I'm convinced it's the same strategy employed by dealerships on a local level--slap a badge on a truck that is underequipped and bloating your inventory in hopes it will move. That's why it's hard to get a firm answer to exactly what extras are included in the "Texas Edition."
Am I wrong? I admit I'm speculating.

If I would have bought my STX in 2006, I might have landed the STX Special Edition--it was a Mississippi exclusive as far as I have found out. Haven't heard of any other local state exclusives, but the last few years that I have vacationed in Dallas with my gf, I have noticed a high count of Texas editions there.
FAIL.
LOL
That a combined special edition for both Texas and Oklahoma would probably not go over well due to the traditional rivalry between the two states. Just kidding...
Ok. Didn't communicate to me. Since about 2004, there has been a special package of options you could get that included a badge. If the truck was shipped to OK, it had an OK badge and if it went to Texas, has a Texas badge. Same option package. It originally included two tone paint, chrome nerf bars, and a few other things. It has evolved to 2011 when ir's just a badge. Again, same truck, some get the OK badge and some get the TX badge.

In the old days the Texas edition or OK edition was the chrome package combined with another package or two offered at a savings. Now if you buy chrome and max tow or other package configurations you get the discount. The badge is still available and its free. If you don't like it take it off and add one for Dallas Cowboys, ballet or whatever the heck turns you on.
Some of us but inspite of the badge
Wow.
So after having a 2005 and a 2010 F-150 SCrew XLT "Texas Edition", I can tell you it's often more than just chrome and badging. Both of mine had power driver seat, 6-disc mp3 radio, and (the more important to me) full console. The 2010 added power pedals and Sync. Now those were purchased in the Texas Panhandle, and the badges are how you could know it had the full console. I've noticed down in Houston that they don't always have the full console.
