ever hear of a build sheet???

Hello everyone,

I seem to be in a location where salesmen know "NOTHING" about the trucks they are suppose to be selling. I am looking to buy a 09-10 F-150. My needs are simple, 4X4,4.6, 3V,3.73 gears, and 6 speed. I know most of you can look at an engine and tell if its 2 or 3 valve, I'm not that experenced. I've found out neather are the salesmen. After months of looking I ran across one salesman who immediately, when asked, said I'll look up the build sheet and tell you exactly whats in that truck. He went to his computer and pulled up every bit of information on the truck I was looking at. When I asked other salesmen to look up the information I was asking via the ''build sheet'' I got a blank stare.

My question. Does anyone here know how I might access this information without having to try to get a salesman to do, if they even can.

Right now I am afraid to buy thinking they will tell me anything to sell the truck and I'll be stuck with something I did not want.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

copy this link, NO NOT CLICK IT. Copy it, then past it into your browser web adress. Follow it with the VIN of the vehicle you want to search, but make sure ALL LETTERS ARE CAPITAL and hit "enter"

It will display the factory window sticker of the Ford you want to see.

http://services.forddirect.fordvehic...icker.pdf?vin=

Again, do not click the link, copy, paste, add vin in capitals.

also, the 3 valve 4.6's only came paired with the 6-speeds. if somehow you manage to find a truck with the 4-speed auto, it has the 2 valve
