thanks for letting everyone know. I also found 11-8-18 which affects the steering. If the wheel binds up on a left hand turn, you need to have this looked at. I have this problem and blamed it on me learning to drive a Ford.

What is interesting was it had not set a single code in the computer.

To say I am extremely let down over this. I had a discussion over whos wild idea is it to not have a dipstick and what would a person do if he or she had an emergency. You have to have a lift to check fluid. If Ford needs 10.00 to make a dipstick, I will be more than happy to pay.

My dealer has been wonderful this afternoon dealing with this, but with my occupation and the miles I drive (over 8k in 2 months), can I trust this truck? I wish someone from Ford (factory) would PM me.
The "repaired" transmission did not hold up. Contacted Ford and had the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. Was handed over to Shana or Sawna in Florida call center whose answer was "I am not interested in your concerns". She repeated it at least 4 times. I begged and pleaded with Ford to have a different person assigned to my case who carred. I was to receive a call from her supervisor and I would have died of exhaustion as that call was never made by Ford.

Ford refused to do a whole unit exchange. The TSB only allows for the rebuilding of the unit not the replacement. I would get 18 to 20 mpg in 5th gear and 15.3 mpg in 6th. There were other issues also.

I wrote Ford asking them to be proactive instead of reactive on the last survey I had received, also with no answer. They should have replaced the transmissions in these trucks before they were ever delivered and also had the dealer call their customers and arrange replacement of the transmission. Customers like myself would have thanked Ford for their concern and not left me hanging.

I will say that my dealer stepped up to the plate where Ford would not. I ended up taking a big hit and replacing the truck with an explorer. I am really snake bit on the F150 scene and it will take some convincing for me to ever own another one.
