Wow, Ford better lay some HUGE incentives for July and the rest of the year. They will lose a ton of sales otherwise.

Perhaps, but we can only speculate on that one. Better to have someone from within the Ford-Borg shed some light on the current thinking.

It shouldn't take a full model year to get something else on offer. The integration/testing work isn't trivial, but the manufacturers have developed pretty good capabilities in this regard. They wouldn't need to start the entire development cycle from scratch. They have other suppliers producing NAV units for their other vehicle lines. Since most of their vehicle lines use a relatively similar communication/electrical buss architecture, turning to another supplier isn't too great a challenge. Supplier capacity may be a whole different story...

Well, I talked to a salesman today and he pretty much confirmed that I could not order what I wanted. Which included the nav option. I guess I will not be buying a truck anytime soon.

As others predicted, chalk-up another unit on the lost sales inventory.

Let's see how long they allow this hemorrhaging to drag out...

Worst part is that they lowered the incentives for this quarter I don't see why they would make it even less attractive to buy when they have no NAV, back ordered on 20's and screw models They took away the $1000 luxury interior incentive (on fx4 and lariats) and took another $1000 off retail customer cash. Last quarters incentives with financing were $4,500 this quarters until (10-3-11) is $3,000.

It looks like they just aren't too worried about it at this point. They're rapidly approaching full build-out of the model year now and scheduled to start accepting 2012 orders in less than a month. Must be nice to still have demand for a product that falls a bit short of customer expectations.

It'll be interesting to see what's up with these options when they open ordering of the 2012's next month.
