New 2011 Lariat Limited

A buddy of mine is picking up the 2011 Lariat Limited today, at the same time he is starting a new job (I'm so happy for him) and will have to move from NYC to TN. Is it ok pull a 6x12 trailer on this new truck with 0 miles?

nice trucks but the gas would be a killer.

they would have had a good angle if they made the lariat limited ecoboost version

as long as the load isn't too heavy and he takes it easy i dont see any issue.

The manual says wait 1000miles. But if you don't push it to hard and hopefully get a hundred or two miles on it first... ?? it would be fine..

Some members on here are towing their boats etc with only a few hundred miles on the clock.. so it just depends how he feels about his new purchase.. its not going to cause engine failure on the spot or anything.

I agree with Bushtree, take it easy and limit speeds to 55-60 mph. Check out truck completely and air tires in the rear to the max stated on the sidewall. Think a trucker with a new Peterbilt is going to wait before hauling a 40k pound load!

It doesnt take long to get a 1000 miles... Take a road trip for a weekend. I put 1400 on mine when i first got it to TX and back...haha Vacation before a new job is a great idea

The trip is about 18 hours one way. I don't think he will be hauling more than 4000lbs and he plans to take it easy.
