Raptor supercrew is a much larger truck and has heavy 35" tires. On a Lariat, KR or Harley with factory tires you will probably see closer to the EPA rating of 12/16. Light on the foot maybe 18 highway unloaded at 65.

My brother has an '11 6.2 Limited, and we were recently talking about fuel economy. He said his is up to 13 mpg average now, and that is just normal driving...not taking it easy by any means.

15 to 16 on a normal (non raptor) 6.2 4x4. Maybe 18 to 19 on the highway. Lots of F-250s getting 15+ on the highway and they are a lot more truck in every way then a F-150.

Those are pretty decent numbers considering what we saw in the 80s with big blocks that had half the power.

Heck, these numbers would have been good for my 91 F-150 5.0. I was lucky to known down 16 mpg on the highway (this was my best mileage on a trip from Austin to Corpus Christi running 60-65 in the rain). I would generally get 12-13 around town.

But a very good point you made. I believe the 460 big block was good for about 230 hp in the 80s Ford pickups. For the amount of power the new 6.2 puts out, the fuel mileage isn't that much worse than what my current truck gets. I get around 14.5-15 mpg running back and forth to work (3 miles one way).

If the 6.2 becomes available with a crew cab and 6.5' 4X4 I may consider a new truck.
