Shock suggestions?

Here the story. The rear driver side shock on my 2010 with 6000 miles started leaking oil pretty bad. So its done. My dealer is fixing it under warranty but they say they can find one anywhere and its totally backorder. The thing is im going camping next long weekend and pulling my TT, there is no way im doing it with a blown shock. So, i told them to put after market on if they cant get oem. Any suggestions on what to get for a 4x4 Lariat with maxtow?

Cheers,

Fred

I have never heard of a dealer replacing factory parts with quality aftermarket parts under warranty. Not sure how the dealer gets FOMOCO to pay them for the replacement shocks. I see them pulling a factory shock off a stock unit on the lot before buying you bilsteins. Rear shocks are a snap to change. Less than 5 minutes.

So did I when my passenger rear was leaking. I even offered to buy the after market shock if they put it on. They politely told me no, you want Ford to pay, it needs to be a Ford shock. Let us know if the dealer goes through with it.
