My 2011 5.0 after 2 months
 

Hey guys,
I'm Colin, I'm new here, and I thought I would introduce myself and show you guys a few pics of the progress of my new 5.0! I picked up the truck in late February and started to mod it pretty much immediately. I wanted to get an FX4, but ended up with a Lariat for the sole reason of having cooled seats. I'll be paint matching a lot of parts anyway, and it will end up looking similar to an FX4 to the untrained eye in the end. Anyway, on to the mods and pictures! I don't have any shots of it when it was stock, but I'm sure you guys have seen one before... ;)

Mods so far:
Harley Heads and Tails with the outer edge of the tails painted black
6,000K HIDs in the heads and fogs
BDS 2.5" Leveling kit (planning on something for the rear shortly)
20x9, +01 offset, chrome Fuel Octanes
33x12.50 Mud Grapplers
Magnaflow 14" oval body dumped before the axle
5.0 badges from a 2011 Mustang GT
Extang Revolution Tonneau

Plans for the future include:
Rear lift of some sort
PTM bumpers and grille with most likely a billet insert
Stainless Works Headers (when available)
Stainless Works Exhaust (when available)
Custom Tuning

Curious as to your gas mileage with the 5.0, muds, larger wheel/tire and a leveling kit. Care to divulge? :)

That's the plan right now, but the more I look at it, the more I may just paint the silver grille inserts black and leave it for a while. We'll see! Thanks!!

Thanks, I agree! I like a little chrome when it's not overdone. Makes it stand out a little.

I haven't noticed any problems yet. I've got about 7,500k miles as of today. I don't have a part number, but I'll measure it to get all the specs for you. I'll take a few pics and a vid too! Yep, I LOVE the 5.0!!

Thanks!! My highway mileage with the mods is about 16.5. I was getting about 17.5 before. The look is worth the loss IMO. Some people may not agree though.

Beautiful ride, very tastefully done. If I ever upgrade to a 2011+ I would get this exact same truck (black lariat on 33s) except I will have the 6.2L engine.

It looks great, but I can't imagine how many people you are pissing off with those headlights

Say what you will, but after aiming them and comparing them side by side to an Escalade with projectors, the Caddy had more glare...

man that is one sweet lookin truck! i really like the chrome bumpers and wheels with all the other PTM parts like mirrors and handles.

First of all truck looks great. Second, are you having any clearance issues with the +1 offset wheels? I talked to a guy who said I would have issues with the +0 offset black Fuel Black Gauge wheels I have ordered clearing with a 2.5" level on the front. He said I might have to do some trimming.

hey first off, great job with your truck:thumbsup:!! i noticed in your post you said you were lokking for a rear of some kind many people on here go with aal in the rear, i went with the readylift block when i did my level, but thats not big enough so soon ill be lifting it with a BDS. also how do you like those mud Graps? i was wondering how loud them suckers are..

Have no fear. I have no plans to murder it. I am planning some more paint matching, but it will never be "murdered". WAY to played out IMO.

Hey there you go! I get at least a comment a week about the badges. Most think thru were factory. The Harley heads are great. One of my favorite mods hands down.

Thanks! I had to trim just a tiny bit, but nothing to make a fuss over. It's totally worth it for the look.

Thanks! I actually already added 3" blocks. Pics will be added soon. The mud grapplers are definitely loud, but I don't feel like they are near as bad as people make them seem. That being said, I actually just replaced them with trail grapplers. It wasn't because of the noise, I just ended up selling them to a buddy.

Thought I would post a little update. I put a 3" block in the rear, added tow mirrors and swapped the tires over to 305/55r20 Trail Grapplers. I got offered too much money for my old Mud Grapplers to turn it down. Overall I really like the Trails. They are great tires! Anyway, here are some before and after pics! I'll get some better pics later, I just wanted to give you guys an update since it's been a while. Enjoy!
