i recently installed the cable for the usb2 to run my wd portable hard drive. For some reason it wont recognise that there is anything in usb2. It has power because the light on the side is on when plugged in. Also the device works perfect when i plug it into the usb1 port. Any ideas?

 

Just to be sure, but you are saying "USB2" to SYNC, correct?

 

check the usb mini cable that you plugged into the truck. we just had this issue with fx4 for life 79's truck saturday. swapped cables and it started working.

i need to replace mine, it only picks it up occasionally.

thanks guys! I replaced the cable and now it works, its funny that my ipod worked with the old cable and not the hardrive, but i guess a differant power requirement.
