Cheezy Grins

Does everyone else step out of their truck with a cheezy grin each time they drive, or is it just me?

I have been driving F-150's for 25 years. Whatever cheesy grin I might have had when I was young, faded away many years ago.

Sometimes I do in my current truck, but not that often anymore.. I used to get a kick out of others drooling over it, not I just think 'really, come on its 5 years old and been around the block a few times...'

Test driving 'regular' F150's (plats/FXs), no grins or smiles... its just another truck that I'd likely do the same junk too... lift, wheels, tires, bla, bla.. I am tired of that already.

Now a Raptor makes me smile ear-to-ear every time I see one, and even more so when I have test driven them. I'll be back to happy the minute I can place my order for a 2012 raptor...

It's actually 7 years, technically, since it was built in 11/04

See, I can't even keep track of our time together now. I haven't been able to look her square in the face since everything took a chit late last year/early this year... :o I haven't even driven it at length since I got it back in late February. I took it to a show in early March then parked it and covered it. no smile here...

I didn't get to drive mine too much while I was home but everytime I got out of it...I appreciated that truck. When I used to sell them back in 04 I never thought I'd ever be able to afford one but now that I have been able to afford one with a very reasonable payment (the result of a good trade in allowance on a paid off 2008 Mustang) ownership feels good...now if I can get back and get around to driving it again in June.

Here's the way I think about it: When I've worked hard to do all the mods/maintenance/cleaning with my own hands, have a truck that's 8 years old with 120,000 miles with a large amount of abuse offroad and still makes people break their neck when going by, whats not to smile about?
