so i pulled out the little red clip on the underside of the connector just like the owner manual says to, but then the manual just says to squeeze and pull. Well i dont know where to squeeze and I'm afraid that if i pull any harder i might break it. any advice? heck i dont even know which part/ how much of the thing pulls out.

 

Why are you trying to remove it? You can clean it with MAF spray without removing it.

 

the red clip should be holding the plug in place, so you should squeeze where the red clip pulled out from.
