New guy here. 2011 XLT

Just bought it last Friday. Crew Cab, 5.0 4x4. Traded in a 09 Tundra. Still getting used to how it drives etc but I can say that im impressed at the quality of the interior. I have owned Fords in the past and I have to say I wasnt pleased but decided to give em another shot.

I have owned 3 Tundras, 05, 06 and 09. (wrecked the 05). I will say that the older ones had better fit, finish and interior materials. The 09 was the base model double cab 4x4 w/ the 5.7. Now I havent really got on the 5.0 yet as im still breaking it in but I will say that 5.7/6sp combo was very, very impressive. Got decent mileage too. That being said Toyota put all sort of crap on it for emissions like a transmission heater and air induction pumps that cost 3k to replace if they get too much moisture in them. Oh yeah, that motor had a few weird noises, high pitch whines, strange hooting sound when cold. Took it in and the tech told me that all was normal. Seat started breaking down at 40k, rotors slightly warped (I am not hard on brakes). So it was back to Ford. Love the interior and I cant believe how quiet it is inside. Lots of room in the backseat. The wife and I went to the auto show this year and looked at all the suv's. The f150 has more leg room in the back than a Tahoe does. Now to previous Fords. 1996 Probe GT. My first new car. Fun to drive only had an issue with the drivers seat as the factory apparently forgot to put some foam in that caused the springs to squeek. Dealer fixed promptly. 2000 F150, new. Took it home and later found a small hole in the can seam. Dealer fixed, repainted area. Tranny went out around 18k. Then PCM had to be replaced shorly thereafter. Something in the engine/tranny/starter made a quick grinding sound when the motor was started in cold weather. Dealer unable to duplicate. 2002 Explorer, bought used w/11k miles (ex rental). Liked how it drove, interior etc. Planetary gear replaced, rear end clutch packs replaced twice and they were making the same noise again when I traded it. I will say that Ford always treated me right and provided me with a rental while the F150/Explorer were in the shop.
