'11 FX2 Rattle From Dash

I just took my new truck on its first real road trip. Overall, it was a great experience. Even though I'm just now at about 1200 miles, at 55 mph I'm getting 22mpg, at 65 it drops to around 19.5. Overall I'm impressed. I can't wait till she's fully broken in.

The only issue I have is a rattle from the area behind the steering wheel. It seems to be coming from directly below the speedo/tach.

It kinda' sounds like 1000 little electrical relays all firing at once.

I've played with the tilt/telescope, but it made no difference. I'm almost thinking that a shot of WD-40 or maybe silicone spray would help, but I thought I'd check here first for solutions.

Anybody?

Silicone is much safer then WD40. I use it often, especially on rubber and plastic where it can squeak! I hate squeaks and rattles, one of the reasons I sold my Dodge and Chevy!!!

if you can get a hold of fluid film that works well and won't damage plastic

The Fluid Film website says "will not harm paint, plastic or oil-resistant synthetic rubbers". I have no way of knowing if everything in the dash is "oil-resistant synthetic rubber". I think I'll stick to silicone spray.
