Lets talk rebates/discounts

what have yal been getting off of your recent truck purchases? i went in a few hours ago looking for a truck (2010-2011 f150 supercab fx4 with no extra options) sticker was 38k only able to get down to 30,500 for a left over 2010 using x-plan. i don't expect too much off a 2011 with a whole new motor line up but a left over 2010 i think should be more along the lines of $27-28k.

exactly. i was originally looking for a 07-09 fx4 supercab, none to be found and the few i do find are as much as they were new with rebates.

thing that pisses me off is september-december last year they were taking off 10k+ on trucks here and now they aren't coming close for those same leftovers.

In my area (zip 32577) there is a total of $5,500 worth of rebates/promotional cash and Ford Credit cash.

So if you minus your X-Plan deduction and then deduct the $5,500 that is about as good as you are probably going to see off of the price of the truck.

I believe that if you get a level higher than the XLT (and FX models) starting with the Lariat on up you lose $1,000 of that total (happened to me on my 2011 Lariat).

Your dealer may go off more for you but that is between you and him.

Don't forget these rebates and promotional offers expire on April 3rd so after that you should see bigger rebates and promotional offers especially if sales are slow, gas is high and so on.

Good luck,

Dennis

for a '10, I would not waste an X-plan. You should be able to get it below invoice before rebates, considering it is last year's model. My '10 lariat was almost $2000 under invoice, before the $5k rebates that were offered.

Be sure to figure out what the price before rebates is, that is the only way to know if the dealer is giving you a good deal. The Rebates will be the same everywhere.

difference between x plan and not is ~$130. i'll probably either end up waiting until rebates are back up even if that means waiting for 6+ months or just go with a used 09 if i can find one.

invoice on the truck was ~$35k then i was getting about $5k off after rebates i was eligible for. that was with a dealer holdback of about $1200 and they would have to have it shipped in from fort worth, haven't been able to get ahold of the dealer that actually has it yet tho.

in my area, I got $7000 rebates, $1000 accessories and then played some hardball and got an additional $3000 from the dealer. I did some searching around and went to different dealers on my travels out of town, so when I got home just said I want to stay local but you gotta give me a deal.

tteel, are those rebates now?

i got the dealer that actually owns the truck to 28,900 + TTL. last night the local dealer pretty much told me i was an idiot when buying trucks and couldn't beat the 30,500 number he kept shoving down my throat. waiting to hear back on one other truck i found just like it that's local to see where were at on price.

edit: where is the $1000 accessory bonus coming from?

yes those rebates are on now...I live in Whitehorse Yukon though so may be different where your at. Right now in Canada its $7000 + $1000 Ford accessories and then also $1000 if you use Ford Finance (I ended up getting a better overall deal not going through them and using a different lender).

Xplan is usally invoce + $100-150.(before rebates) For an '10, I would want the pirce before rebates to be under invoice, not over.

If you are in Spring, you need to go talk to Shawn Burns, over at Planet Ford. Tell him Jerry from 2-cool sent you. He is the GM and will treat you right. Or if you want me to have him contact you, PM me your info.

Jerry

I ordered my 2011 today. With the X-plan my truck came to $155 over invoice, before rebates. The X-plan saved me $175 from the deal I previously negotiated without the X-plan. Better than nothing.

Just wondering what did you order? Are you including the advertising assessment in the invoice number?

Currently there are $3g worth of rebates for me here in Va. I understand they expire in April, correct?

Hoping they will get better for the next build as gas prices are up and look to stay that way. Well, I hope they dont get any worse atleast.
