Wow the Ecoboost sounds weak!

So I bought a 2011, and love it, engine is great, mileage is a little bad right now, but when I start it....it sounds like my wifes car! I will miss the rumble of the v8.

My main complaint with the truck so far....thats why I'm hoping for good real world numbers from the 5.0

Do you have any videos etc that shows off the exhaust?

All you need to do is put on a magnapack an take the silencer rings out of the turbos. I really wish I had an ecoboost in mine

The silver truck is an ecoboost that is uncorked.

Based on the video above, I would say no.

I love the sound of the turbos they sound pretty cool. Sure it would be cool to have a V8 sound but those spooling sound cool. Sounds like a F250 pulling away from a light.

Yep, sounds like a rice burner with a turbo. But sound isn't everything. The power is the big benefit. It would be nice to have instant power for burn outs, with out brake torqueing, but that won't happen with a small engine coupled to a turbo. That's the price you pay. From a stop, the ecoboost will feel like a small V6 but should change drastically from there.

With brake torqueing, you can do some great burn outs, my brother's Buick Grand National is proof of that!

It will happen, but not if you're running the stock psi of boost.

It must be a fairly stock GN if he needs to brake torque it to do burnouts.I run alcohol injection w/25psi of boost in mine and I can light'em up at a 35mph roll.
Once people get brave/crazy enough to start modding ecoboost f150s and running more boost they won't need to brake torque either.

Back in the day (late middle 90s) we were foolish, a Mustang GT pulled up to us, it had a driver and passenger as us. They wanted to race. Well my brother decided to gun it. The front end raised and after it sat back down and we slowed, we looked and they gave up before even starting. Priceless.

I started out in it, gave it a lot of gas and I was thinking this wasn't much. Just then the boost kicked in and I sided the car out and did a 180 degree turn "without the steering wheel". From then on out, turbos scared me.

He most likely didn't have to brake torque, but he did like to fill the area with smoke. Tires do get expensive after a while though.

The EBs I have driven had no problems at all making the back tires turn to smoke, if the TC is off. Otherwise it will spin for a second or so and then the electric nanny kills the fun.
