Body Mouldings Installed

Truck is filthy but cleaned it enough to install mouldings......
Instructions said install below groove in the door but I had to double check as it seemed above would be better?........parked next to a car to test and yes it must be on the bottom side ......they look great !

Pics added to my profile as I have nothing but trouble trying to add pics to the thread........

those will put a real 'dent' in how many door dings you get Looks good, they are hardly noticeable. I am jealous if that is your home garage and it has a lift in it...

Interesting. The pictures on their site show it mounted above the groove...

I think it looks better where you have it.

While this is not my truck, it's the same color and body style. I installed the mouldings where shown. I had about six neighbors align their vehicles next to my truck, just to get the best idea of where to place them. This seemed to work out best for me, but it's really a matter of personal preference.

I have noticed since installing them about four months ago a few indications of doors being opened right on the mouldings, so they're doing their job!

This is a great idea guys, I think I am going to bite the bullet and order them soon. I will probalby put them above the grove, I think they look better up there and the running boards should take care of any small cars dinging my down low, I am just worried about other trucks up high.

Believe me, you won't regret getting them.

I get tons of the usual, "hey, man...where in hell did you get those?" comments. By the way - you're right. My running boards do help deflect smallish vehicle doors. I put mine where shown for the trucks, etc.

It does help more than I thought they would.

Plus...they look cool.

Above the Groove

I would agree with Fog and USAF that above the line would be the best choice however in my case with the Amp Research Powerboards I have no lower protection at all............

Your sportwings look good. I also got the sportwings. I played with below and above the groove and finally settled for above the groove. Here's what they look like

Love that garage and the moldings look nice. Not to jack your thread, but how ya like those Blizzaks? I bet that thing can go anywhere in the winter! Factory Pirellis have been a challenge with all the snow that I get.
