rims and tire question

ok im running into a hard choice here. i have a 2011 FX2 with OPT. 20's on it w/ bridgestone dueler A/T rhs in 275/55/20 and here are my options( i like the look of a high profile side wall too)
truck will be leveled before anything is done as well

1) Buy 20's and use the tires i have then change them to 33 when worn out or
2) Buy 18's with new 33'' mud tires and have 2 set of wheels and tires

im just thinking 18 rims are cheaper and tires will be easier to find and maybe a little cheaper. where 20 are about 120 bucks more a rim and tires are harder to find

Just curious, and I know it's your money, but why would you put 33" mud tires on a 2wd truck?

If you have to ask you will never understand.

18's. But I'm not positive 33's will fit with just a level on an FX2. wandell is the expert on that subject though so maybe he can confirm. And forget the MT's. You don't/won't do nearly enough offroad to make it worth it. Stick to some good aggressive looking AT's.

With a leveling kit you can fit 33's on a 09-11 4x2 as long as you don't go with a really wide wheel with shallow backspacing and a wide tire. I'd suggest a 9 inch (or narrower) wheel with at least 5 inches of BS and something like a 285/65-18 (33x11.50) or a 305/60-18 (33x12.50).

Yes, rim diameter doesn't matter.
