If I could afford a Raptor, I would be all over that!

I just got a reg cab STX. It's a 4X4 but with the V6. I may not be that concerned about mpg now but if the gas prices spike, I don't want my fuel bill hitting me so hard. For me the V6 is enough.

I agree with others who say get the STX and keep the L. I had an '04 L and wish that I still had it. I couldn't afford to have more than one at a time. Also don't have the space. If you can find an STX with the 5.0 you should have enough power to keep you happy, and then when the snow is gone you can fire up the L to hear the sweet music that the M112 makes.

Good luck!
Thanks for the opinion. Nothing beats the sound of that cold blower whine in the early spring morning.

Oops, I meant to say XL/STX. They group them together.

You can get the convenience package with the 4.2" screen in the 126" wb reg cab with XLT package. I have one.Mine is a 4X4 with 5.0 with 3.73 gears.I have 2700 miles on mine now and have never reset trip 2 and my mpg shows 17.8.Thats mixed driving mostly city.Every time I have filled up I always hand calculated and get .2 or .3 more than truck computer shows.
I am so glad the reg cab drivers seat is not power. This manual adjustable seat is far more comfortable than my 09 F150 I had with the power seat.Power seat is ok until someone changes your position and can never get it back wher it was.

Plus, I've have a 68 mustang that I want to restomod.

Just weighing my options.
ok - buy the cheaper truck, sell the L and use that money to start on the '68...

Then you have a truck for your manly duties and the '68 for your adrenalin fix.

Probably because of the heavy engine. It's also not a new engine, so it was already set up for hydraulics. Ford doesn't want to sell very many F-150's with the 6.2 because of CAFE requirements.

I vote for the Crew Raptor!! But I'm biased I used to have an 01 Lightning as well, loved that truck.

I average around 13-14mpg overall with a 50/50 split of city and highway driving on my Raptor crew. Highway long trips, I see 14-15mpg, so the mileage isn't that bad.

The Raptor in the snow is amazing.

Interesting. That's about what I get in the L, and I'm not bothered.

How do you find the maneuvering in parking lots, etc. Any issues being a little bigger? Think its mostly the 7" width, and a bit more height. What did you end up paying if you don't mind me asking?

I was about to put this but he beat me to it. The hydro steer is on account of weight. Same reason you won't find electro in the diesels.

To answer the question at hand: the F-150 Raptor is the truck we dreamed of as kids. It's going to be the truck we remember when we're old. If you can own it... do. You will literally never be sorry.

To make things more difficult for you though I'm going to post a pic of my boss' 5.0 FX4 in Sterling Grey. It's all kinds of sweet.

Sure, post it! I'm still entirely sure what I'm oging with.

But check this out, it would actually be cheaper for me to buy a u.s. raptor then it would be to get an fx4 here in canada.

Retail price on a supercab fx4 ecoboost here is $49k, with the options I'm looking for. Retail price on ford.com for the raptor with the same options I want comes to $46k.

The problem here is that all the dealership raptors are fully loaded, and marked up to $64k.

I'd go the extra distance for a raptor.
