Those look sweet!! I want to do that to my third light as well. Where do you get the night shades? Also I want to blackout the dumb reflectors on the mirrors. Can you buy night shades for the reflectors too?

Looks good.. I did the same thing a few weeks ago but went a step further and painted the outside border with satin black paint so only the center is translucent..

Fantastic looking truck!!!!!!

You consider doing something about the "white looking" surround on the tails?

I only ask as I'm looking for options myself. On that note, I can't belive AVS etc make the blackout trim for the headlights, but not tails. They'd sell so many on 09 F150s where so many complain!

I purchased the Recon smoked light and it looks exactly like the ones you guys posted above...on the website they show it to have some depth but it doesn't....its black.

Here is the website picture...I emailed them saying that the webste picture is misleading but never got a response.

o well. hope it doesn't leak....

I'm assuming you guys took the third brake light off to paint it. Any problem with the seal when puting it back on? Just had the third brake light leak fixed in my 2010 and dont want that to come back and bite me in the ****. Either way I need to darken mine since I put on the hd tails, even my wife thinks so, and she doesn't usually comment on things like that.

No problems for me. The seal is just a rubber/foam gasket. If you just had it replaced, there shouldn't be any problems. I would hope the dealer replaced the gasket and didn't use butyl or silicone.

I found these on ebay and put AVS blackout covers on them until I have them professionally sprayed in the future.
