2011 key (pics)

My 2010 is in the shop so I took the chance to take a 2011 5.0 out for a drive. I wont get into that but want to know about the new keys.

Can I replace these....

With this!?

Yes you should be, that or a flip key would work. If you check ebay for them you should find them for like 50 bucks.

Here's a thread about them, last page Bluetoy has the key your looking at.

That I don't think anyone has figured out how to keep on the new key. There is a button on it that isn't used though. When you get your flip key keyed, you can take out the blade by the two small screws at the base of the shaft by the fob, it was easier for them that way to key it.

A flip key with all the buttons on it would be great, especially if it had a spare button for a factory remote start. I'm just glad to see the new 2011 keys are 'all-in-one'; My dad's ford edge key is like that and I thought it was great

Oohh.. I like that key! How do you program them to work with your truck? I'm sure there is a thread around here with instructions..

EDIT:Found it.. Looks like the owners manual has instructions and you need 2 OEM keys to do so?? I'll take a look in my manual.

Dealer wouldn't give me an exact prince but put the new key at $200+ each.

I will try out the flip key and carry around the remote start fob for now.

Correct, its very easy to do, he sends the instructions with the key too. He's a good seller, he sent me two knew key blades for just shipping when ace hardware screwed up keying it.

That's why I like the flip key, no poking. I keep my truck keys separate from all my other keys so its nice just to have this in my poket.

Nice.... that means I'd have to get remote start for winter warm-ups. Or risk GTA.
