Issues at the gas pump!

I have a 2010 FX4 and every time I fill up the pump stops before the tank is full and will not let me continue. Is this because of the new cap-less gas tank? Is anybody having the same issue?

My pump stopped.....................at $75 bucks tonight when I filled up. Gas here is over $3.00 gallon. Glad I kept my Escort ZX2 at 33 mpg.

Mine stopped at $75 too. So you guys are saying that the pump won't go past $75?? Do I have to stop and then start again to get a full tank?

If you used a credit card your credit services company sets this limit. Some say to help prevent fraud. You should be able to contact the credit company and have the limit changed or removed. Hope this helps.

To the OP. I find when the message center says 50miles to empty there is well over 6 gallons left. I figure there is some sort of reserve system. I have gone close to 0 miles to empty but was afraid to go anymore. There was still a few gallons left.

I think 30 gallons is a good round number anyway! Either way Im happy with the truck.

Most of the pumps around my house also stop at $75 but I do have a receipt in the truck for $94 , and it wasn't even empty ..
Oh well, I still love driving it !

If you are using a credit card (because most of us dont have that much cash on hand, 3.27 gal) the gas pump will automatically stop at 75.00. It suppose to be for your protection in case your credit card gets stolen. So just shut of the pump and re-swipe the credit card and it should pump out another 75.00. Hope that helps.

Must be a lot of truck around my town - most all the stations set their pumps to cut-off at $125.

Same here. First fill up since purchase= $100.50 Took two transactions as the first stopped @ $75.00

Not complaining. Picked up the truck on the 23rd, and didn't granny drive it.

I called my bank and they said there is no limit on my debit card. It just sucks because I can't get a full tank of gas unless I do 2 transactions.

I suspect the $ limit is a gas supplier decision.

You're credit card company could care less how much you spend per transaction.

The limit on the pump is set by the gas company. I had the same problem with my Dodge when prices were $4+. A lot of places have since upped the limit. I haven't stretched my tank that far yet on my new truck, but I am sure I will try to find the transaction limit in my area before too long. I was borrowing a truck in early December and got above $75 once.

I have seen pump limits as low as $50. It's a limit set by the gas station itself. If you prepay inside, you can get it all in one swipe. Some stations even require you to punch in your zip code too.
