I don't know the answer, but you can get a $20 subscription for 1 month of access and see the real Ford service docs:

Ive been wanting to do this mod also! Actually ive been looking for a set of OE leather seats and they all come with the flow thru. I was just considering removing the shifter on the console and building/fabing something to cover the hole or just make it look like a nook coin holder or phone holder.... But, now that i know the shifter can be made functional i think ill be looking into this!!! Good luck with the wiring and all, and be sure to keep us updated!!

UPDATE: Center Console Shifter

I'm 95% done, You'll see in the pictures the little things that I have left, but other than that all the major work is done, everything is working great, thanks to patman who share the wiring diagram to connect the floor shifter, one thing I notice that when I do the shifting the indicator in the cluster lights up to me is kind a neat and i didn't do anything on that it came out automatically. notice the gap triangle shape? the red handle, i dont know, may be I could live with that, the column cover I got it is ease to install so consider it done.

The indicator on the dash on the 09+ is driven from a switch in the transmission.

2011Ford, try LKQ for dash and shifter pieces

If you're XLT and above it should be prewired in the dash harness, and you just need to connect the console harness to the dash harness
