Made A Bet With My Sgt, Leaving to the forum for help declaring the winner

We were sitting around the other day in our tool room comparing trucks. My Sgt told me his 2010 FX4 SuperCrew could out run my 2005 F150 Lariat Supercab. Now I figured this could be true if it was stock vs. stock, given the fact he has 4.10 gears and I am running 3.55 gears, not to mention I believe we have different transmissions. Now the question that came up was who's truck would be quicker. He is sitting stock with a 5.4 and 3 inch y pipe back exhaust with a 40 series flowmaster vs My 05 has a 5.4 with Hi FLow cats, 3 in y pipe back with a magnaflow dumped, afe intake, bbk 80mm throttle body, and superchip flash paq? Please help, he said he would leave it up to the forums to decide who wins the bet.

Just by going by what you stated and only by what you stated, I would put my money on your truck. Simply because you have a chip. Now whether or not you use the chip if y'all were to race would have to be up to the two of you. But I would put my money on you. Hopefully you didnt tell him about your modifications and you can go to an airstrip and run em for some cash.

as of now we are in Iraq with thoughts of running once we get back to the states, but we have $150 on the line for this bet. He knows my truck is lowered 3.5/5 with the mods I listed. He doesn't know the exhaust was redone to delete the 4 factory cats and get rid of the the dumped flowmaster. it was redone with 2 hi Flow Magnaflow cats and a magnaflow muffler dumped before the axle. He still insists that his truck is quicker.

first, the lowest gear available in a 2010 is 3.73 gears.
he will beat you off the line no doubt, once you get moving it will be dead even however. 1/4 mile drags are usually won with the fastest reaction and 60' times

would 3.73s make a big difference over 3.55s?

If his is stock, I'd still put my money on your truck bleedingblue.

i say he should know about the cats.

besides the different cabs and or beds which makes a big deal, his truck needs to shift 3-4 times (with a tuner he would take this) to your 2-3, plus you have a tuner. i say you but it could go either way.

He is carrying more weight also with a 2010 model and supercrew. I don't see how he could win?

I think 2010 has it hands down, lower gear ratio in the axle, and more gears in the trans. 4 gears vs 3 (not counting the ODs)

Probably come down to driver and ability to hook up so in simplest terms - your 60 foot time will determine the race. Neither set up has a copious amount of power in reserve to come back at 1/8 mile so I think the race is won/lost in first 60 feet. But line'em up when you get back and let us know!!! Thanks for serving!

Another thought, what are the miles on each vehicle? The 2010 may not be close to being broke in. If the 2010 has over 20000 miles then game on!

He is sitting around 1500 miles on the odometer and I am rolling closer to 26000 on mine. Looks like we may have a draw until we get home and can settle this. Oh well, thanks everybody. I am currently waiting for my wife's 2011 Super Crew to come in, that has
a few ideas sitting in the back of my head already. Going to do it mild and reliable for her.

IMO your truck should pull him no doubt. But just in case you don't, tell him to come race me for $300 if he takes your $150 (need some money lol)

I'd bet on his truck for multiple reasons: Higher initial HP by 10 or 20--depending on fuel type. Better gear ratio (are you sure about the 4.10's?) 6 speed trans w/ a MUCH lower first gear jump out of the hole 4.17:1 vs. 2.48:1 Besides, yours isn't even street legal w/o the cats.
